Performance Specs

The 2017 Honda Ridgeline runs on a 3.5L V6 engine, making 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough power for a properly equipped model to tow up to 5,000 pounds. All but the top two trim levels are offered with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel or all-wheel drive, while the top two trims come standard with all-wheel drive. You’ll get an EPA-estimated 26 mpg highway and 19 mpg city with the front-wheel drive setup, and 25 mpg highway and 18 mpg city with all-wheel drive.** If you go with all-wheel drive, you can also opt for an all-terrain system with settings for normal, snow, mud, and sand.

Trims and Features

There is no lack of choices when it comes to the 2017 Honda Ridgeline.

  • RT: The base trim comes well equipped for performance from the start with 18-inch alloy wheels, an adaptable tailgate that folds down and out and a locking box in the truck bed. You’ll also get Bluetooth, a rearview camera, and rear privacy glass. Like all versions of the Ridgeline, there’s seating for five.
  • RTS: The second trim gets a remote start system, a Homelink universal remote, and tri-zone climate control. It also comes with machine-finished wheels and foglights.
  • Sport: The Sport trim resembles the RTS in most ways except for its unique 18-inch wheels, black exterior paint, and red ambient cabin lighting.
  • RTL: The RTL adds leather upholstery and a leather steering wheel to the mix, as well as heated and power adjustable front seats.
  • RTL-T: This trim is the only one offered with the unique Honda LaneWatch blind spot camera. It also comes with an 8-inch touchscreen with satellite radio, HD radio, navigation, and the HondaLInk system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
  • RTL-E: Go with the second highest trim level, and you can look forward to a full suite of advanced safety features like parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and blind spot monitoring, as well as a premium stereo system with a truck bed speaker setup.
  • Black Edition: The Black Edition gets the same feature package as the RTL-E with the exception of its unique Black Edition styling, which includes black wheels, Black Pearl paint, and black leather seats with unique red stitching.

The 2017 Honda Ridgeline has been receiving a variety of positive reviews across the auto industry.

  • Edmunds: “Strip away the want aspect of truck buying and focus on need, and you might just find that the 2017 Honda Ridgeline fills the bill nicely. We expected it to be comfortable and agile, but it’s also uniquely capable among midsize pickups when it comes to hauling.”
  • The Car Connection: “The 2017 Honda Ridgeline is a smart alternative to full-size trucks, for drivers content with matching the right tool to the right job.”
