1. Taylor’s Covestarted by a graduate of GA Tech and Macon resident, Taylor’s Cove overlooks the beautiful Lake Sinclair. Seafood is the star of the show here so plan to start with oysters, if that’s your thing. Also try bourbon salmon, brisket mac and cheese, or shrimp and grits tossed in sweet chili dynamite sauce.

2. Aubri Lane’s - For seafood and steaks in a pretty atmosphere head to Aubri Lane’s. Start with the Hot Damn Shrimp (crispy shrimp in a creamy sauce). There’s a lovely Pecan crusted trout or short ribs.  Pro tip: You can even purchase a package of steaks from their butcher to take home!  
 

3. Amici – craving Italian? This casual pizza spot is the cure. Stop in for some local brews and a couple of pies. You can't go wrong with the Athenian pizza (topped with chicken and artichokes) or the BBQ Chicken (it’s a classic, right?). Oh, and on weekends, there’s even live entertainment.  


4. The Brick – An upscale spot perfect for a romantic evening is The Brick. They make exceptional cocktails to kick off your evening. Expect American food with a southern twist. There are signature items like their jerk chicken pasta not to be missed.

5. Bollywood Tacos – Can't decide between Indian and Mexican? No problem. Head to Bollywood Tacos for the best of both. Of course, there are perennial favorites on the menus like salsa and chips, guacamole, and carnitas and steak tacos. But if you want to venture out of your eating comfort zone, try the fusion tacos like the Delhi Belly or Shawarma taco. Foodie tip: Visit on Tuesdays for $2 tacos.   


6. Buffington's – visit this Milledgeville classic restaurant for sensational burgers and steaks. We recommend the ribeye,
but the chicken and waffles are epic too! 
 


7. Kai ThaiA newish restaurant to Milly is this lovely Thai spot. The spot serves both Thai and Hibachi entrees. Thai curries and fragrant and intoxicating but on a cold day their ramen is perfect to warm you up. You can customize most of your entrees with your choice of protein too. They are open for both lunch and dinner but closed on Sundays. We recommend making a reservation if you plan to dine on the weekend.

8. Local Yocalperfect for brunch or tasty sandwiches. They have a mouthwatering selection of burgers or sandwiches - Turkey Reuben is wonderful! At brunch omelets and benedicts are a hit. They have varieties like the Beauregard (a southern style with pork patties) or the Sardou (NOLA style with artichokes and creamed spinach) Foodie tip: Daily lunch specials are served from 11 am to 2 pm Monday through Friday. They come with a drink and are just 10 bucks.

9. Metropolis Café - for a variety of dishes from all over the world, head to Metropolis for a bevy of Mediterranean food.
Kebabs and Souvlaki a
re the star items to try here but you really can’t go wrong with any of the dishes.
