        Best car I've ever owned

        I am the second owner of this car, just about to hit 300k miles. I love this car. Even after eight years of ownership, I find myself grinning like an idiot taking off from a traffic light. Unique fastback styling, surprisingly powerful, and no major issues outside of basic maintenance. I've put about 200k miles on mine, and I highly recommend this model. If you're considering purchasing a third-generation GS, here are some things I've noticed/experienced: 2006 models are the GS300 [with Rear wheel drive or AWD], and the GS430. Avoid the AWD GS300. In 2007 the GS450h was added, but look for one from 2009 or after with the extra trunk space. The 2007 GS350 replaced the GS300, and in 2008 the GS460 replaced the GS430. They all burn a little bit of oil. My GS350 consumes 1-2qt per 7500 miles. They all require 91/93 premium fuel. I consistently get 30MPG tank average, 32mpg highway and low 20s city. Maintenance is fairly straight forward and mostly DIY. You will never get the coupon price on an oil change... the V6 takes 7qt and the V8 takes over 9qt. The service manual states that the transmission is sealed and never needs a fluid change. The Canadian service manual says to change the fluid every 60k. I do it every 60k. There's a good chance the recirculate mode does nothing. If you change the cabin filter while it's in fresh air mode, you break a tiny plastic handle that opens and closes the fresh air vent on the blower motor. The bluetooth system only supports phone call audio, not music. The final GPS update disc came out in 2016, and the voice recognition is strictly for entertainment value. Backseat passengers get six airbags, an aircon vent, but no electrical outlet. There is a trunk pass-through in the armrest but the seats don't flop down. The trunk is huge, unless you have the hybrid model made before 2009. Overall, 10/10. 300hp, 32 mpg highway, more airbags than I can count, and it looks great. Highly recommend!…

        Fantastic car - Will last for years!

        I have owned my 2009 Lexus GS 350 AWD for about 3.5 years. In that time, I have put roughly 30,000 miles on it. I really love the way the car drives, the steering has a nice amount of heft to it, and the acceleration is fun when you kick it into sport mode. The ride is tight but also comfortable enough on rough roads. The interior fit and finish is also top-notch, with high-quality materials everywhere you touch. The seats are comfortable even on long road trips and don't have any tears in them. The audio quality is fantastic, especially with the wired connection. My complaints about the car come down to the fuel economy and the lack of Bluetooth for music. For fuel economy, I average roughly 18 in the city, and I can get up to 27 on the highway. Those aren't necessarily bad, but the car requires premium gas. As far as reliability goes, it has been fantastic so far. I have roughly 167,000 miles on my GS, and I've only had minor issues. The most prominent issue is the passenger side headlight has recurring issues, but hopefully I'll resolve that when I go to the shop again (it's only the second time it has been an issue). Overall I would highly recommend a GS as a used car if you can find one in good condition.…
